Four or Five Fables of Mandelbrot set

Inspired by the Tang Dynasty tale Yaksha, this sci-fi fantasy follows the lone Guardian of an alchemy furnace in a parallel world. As dreams and hallucinations blur, he must protect the forbidden furnace—keeper of a symbolic “elixir of immortality”—while no longer knowing who he truly is. The story explores individual existence under a totalitarian system.
